Dietrun im Wald
Dietrun ist Ende 20 und die beste Hebamme nördlich der Donau. Sie lebt in einer versteckten Waldhütte am Oberlauf des Gießgrabens und wird immer gerufen, wenn eine Geburt schwierig zu werden droht, auch zu den Adeligen in Tulln , was den Wundscher derer von Zillern ärgert. Ida von Tulln selbst hat ihre Dienste schon zweimal in Anspruch genommen. Sie ist die derzeitige Wächterin der Duna in den Höhlen von Ottenthal und wurde von ihrer Mutter, der alten Arnhild , in die Hexenkunst eingeführt. Sie bewacht die Höhlen von Ottenthal mit ihrem Leben und würde sie eher für immer verschließen als sie durch die Plünderungen der Mager des Hermesordens entweiht zu sehen.
