The Fortress of the Black Lion is a Solar manse in the southern desert owned by Largo the Black Lion. It is currently occupied by his tribe, the Desert Lions.
Hearthstone[]
The Fortress produces the Sun's Judging Eye, a small amber rock about the size and shape of a human eye. When attuned, it converts all damage dealt by the attuned to Holy damage. It also allows the person attuned to it to see perfectly in darkness.
The Sun's Judging Eye is a level-2 Hearthstone, providing level-4 Essence regeneration and freeing up 2 Creation points.
Manse Mechanics[]
Manse ••••
Armored (3)[]
Being made of pure marble makes the Fortress rather sturdy
Guardian[]
Xanxian, Ancient Beast of the Dunes, a high Essence elemental, was willingly bound to protect the Fortress at the time of it's creation. He will mercilessly attack anyone who is not attuned to the manse unless instructed otherwise by the manse's current owner. As part of his binding, Xanxian recovers Essence at the same rate as a Solar would inside an attuned 4-dot manse, without needing worship or sacrifice to acquire it.
Archive[]
The walls of the Fortress are covered in First Age writing, giving the equivalent of a 3-Die Specialty bonus for learning about Desert Warfare (War), Feats of Strength (Athletics), and, oddly enough, Deathknights and Deathlords (Occult). The third topic seems newly carved but Xanxian doesn't recall who wrote it.
Well-Flavored Aspect[]
This manse was built specifically with Solars in mind. Marble doors swing open when the Chosen approach, and the sand that covers the floors even seems to pack together to give them sure footing.
Essence Vents[]
Columns of Essence sand continuously pour from both the ceiling and the floor, giving the Fortress the illusion of perpetual sinking. Xanxian can alter the flow of these vents to attack intruders and is not harmed by them.
