Episode Summary[]

The team is assigned a new job. We are told to join the crew of a submarine. There is an island to the south east of Saipan, where a marine detachment has apparently been lost. We are given a new team to assist us. Somehow, we never figure out that they are not really Easy Company, and keep telling them that they are not performing as usual.

On arrival, Dan uses his jet pack to scout. He does not find any signs of the marines. The team disembarks from the submarine and explores the island. We find the body of a marine, dead several hours. It seems strange that he is alone. Deja Vu, looking into the past, watches what happened: a group of marines trudging through the jungle are attacked by paper cranes and paper dogs. They fled to the north.

Following their trail, the team is attacked by paper cranes.

Fending them off, we continue to the most obvious landmark: a hillock with a large cliff face. We find a carved stone door in it, blocked off by a landslide. Instead, we leave "Easy Company" to deal with it.

Dan uses his X-ray vision to scan underground. He sees several people trapped below, and they try to communicate with Morse code.

Dan carves a lava tube to help them escape. We have recovered the marines. We head back to the boat, but encounter a couple of platoons of Japanese soldiers on the way.

We are attacked by more cranes, but fend them off.

The Japanese head towards the hill with the caves, and we follow cautiously. We watch them vanish into the cave, and emerge hours later carrying crates. We don't know what they have, but if they want it that badly, we do too.

We create the appearance of an ambush, using Dan's holograms, "Easy Company 2" and the marines. The Japanese, facing apparently overwhelming numbers, give up the crates. We take them to the boat and escape.

Opening them, we think we've never seen anything like their contents, outside of Doris's lab. So we leave, hoping that she can figure out what they are.
