The adventurers, after a couple of weeks of being lost and winding their way through Barsaive, come upon the village of Hawa'Ee. It appears that the object of D'zurr's worship, the mythical folk hero Aal'visss, saved this village three years ago from an attack of marauders and cadavermen. Herald discovers this as he is walking to the bookshop and finds a lifelike statue of a T'skrang bearing a plaque with Aal'visss's name on it. Despite the best attempts of the tailless three, D'zurr discovers that Aal'visss is living in the village at a large manor to the south of the village. Aal'visss has supposedly been living in the village for the past three years, "protecting" it. D'zurr begins a candlelight vigil sitting outside Aal'visss's manor. In the meantime, Dharlomei tastes the best sausages he has ever had, courtesy of the local Sausagesmith.
After much commotion (involving Nephy stabbing a guard in the eye and Herald trying to convince the guards to let him in, along with an offering of sausages from D'zurr), the adventurers are finally granted an audience with Aal'visss. They are invited to dinner at his manor. However, during this dinner, the village comes under attack from a pair of Jehuthra and an undead horde. "Aal'visss" admits to not being who he claimed to be to Herald and Nephy, and urges the adventurers hold off the attack. Herald agrees, but only if the fake Aal'visss leaves town and never comes back.
The adventurers are victorious over the forces of the Horrors, but D'zurr remains convinced that she has been in the presence of Aal'visss. With no other options, Nephy knocks D'zurr out with sleeping powder and the other adventurers attempt to convince her that it was "all a dream." D'zurr retains a bit of "holy sausage" given to her by "Aal'visss" and believes she knows the truth of the matter. Dharlomei is seen with a 50 pound bag full of sausage, with no explanation as to how he "acquired" it.
