  • Hi IrasCignavojo,

I have a question before starting to write. Players play as an army General. You choose your army, then which units to include in the military, using a points-based system. The world, towns, etc will be included. It is a way for players to play as Generals, then meet other players to battle from several battles field choices across the land. Basically, is it ok to play as a General controlling troop movement, etc, instead of a character? Thanks

    • Hi Dominus,

While as a game system that might work well for you and your players, I'm not sure that would be a good fit to include here. As a wiki the RPG wiki is for pen&paper role-playing campaigns, be it fantasy, science-fiction or more world-of-darkness type urban horror. System agnostic with a healthy dose of home-brew in it.

For our fantasy world MYRA for example we also have a strategic level where players can play kings and queens, bishops and generals, basically the world above the level of the roleplaying of individual characters - but you'll find none of that here in the RPG wiki, neither rules for that nor descriptions of events or armies involved - because that is not pen&paper RPG, what this wikia is for.

Maybe it makes sense for you as well to start a wikia sandbox on Fandom and see if it merits its own full wikia along the way?

      All the best, Iras

  • Hi IrasCignavojo. I've just started editing here on RPG Wiki and I thought I would introduce myself. I'm Supermorff, and I have quite a lot of experience of editing and administrating on Fandom wikis (although I haven't been active as much lately as I was before). I'm also really interested in tabletop RPGs and think it would be really great to have a section here that could serve as a sort of introduction to different aspects of RPGs. I've made a start on that but it's a long-term project.

Another thing I've been doing is using the wiki's special pages to identify areas of the wiki that can be cleaned up. There are quite a few pages and categories that I've tagged for deletion, which you can find at Category:Candidates for deletion. (I also amended the template so that it can now include a reason why the page should be deleted, but I only did that partway through the process so a lot of the candidates don't have reasons in the page itself. You can still see the reasons in the edit history, but in general I hope it's self explanatory. Lack of content or not relating to tabletop RPGs are the main reasons.)

Would it be possible for you or another admin to go through and delete the ones you agree should go? Alternatively, since there are a lot of them, could you make me an admin so that I can do it myself? I would like to be an admin here at some point, but if you'd rather see how I get on for a while (or review my judgement on pages to be deleted first), that makes sense too.

I look forward to working with you here and helping make this wiki shine!

  • Hi. I’ve given you admin and bureaucrat rights on this community as you requested. You now have the tools you need to clean up, customize, and maintain the wiki.

Check out your Admin Dashboard, which can be found by clicking "Admin" on the bottom toolbar. It has links to all your new tools. Please let me know if you have any questions, and good luck with the wiki!

  • Hello.

I just waned to let you know I have taken over the Earthdawn Wiki and are making improvements on it as fast as I can. It is located at https://earthdawn.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

    • Cheers to that! I hope to make improvements here as soon as someone makes me one of the Admins here ;-) I'd like to adopt this, and then get help in a general clean-up (without deleting real RPG material).
