The U.S.S. Antaeus (NCC-43507) was a Centaur-class vessel commanded by the female Tellarite Warafelasta.
History[]
Commissioned in 2301, the Antaeus was assigned to the Fifteenth Fleet, tasked with exploring remote regions of the Federation near Tholian Space. Three years later, however, it was recalled to Viliara II, detached permanently from the Fifteenth Fleet, and sent on the long journey to Earth. The reason for this—which was made known to only select crew—was the transfer of sensitive cargo in the form of court-martialed Starfleet officer Kari Sandler and some of her former compatriots, including Commander Hyn Do'harra.
During its journey, the Antaeus came to the aid of an independent merchant ship under the command of a Regulan named L'Thurrr. The ship had suffered a warp regulator failure; Warafelasta ferried L'Thurrr's ship, crew, and cargo back to his port of origin, the Klingon trade world of Tika. Upon arriving in the Tika system, the Antaeus was confronted by the Klingon D7 cruiser Hoq'tak, but grudgingly permitted to proceed.
